Alqua (Swan) Alqua means "Swan" in the ancient Elven Quenya tongue of Middle Earth, and is inscribed in the hilt in the Elvish Tengwar script. Poplar is a soft wood with a very male energy. The influence of Venus affords it a softer feminine quality too. Elemental associations are with primarily with Spirit, then Water, then Fire. The energy of Poplar is very diverse making it suitable for all Magickal purposes. It is very useful for evocation as well as banishment rituals.
